Baby Co Sleeper

Are baby co-sleepers safe? I am hearing mixed reviews.?

I have registered for a co-sleeper. I will not sleep with my baby in bed with us, as I have heard there is a chance of one parent rolling on the baby.

But… I did not want to buy a bassinet, so I was going to buy an enclosed co-sleeper to put on the floor next to my bed at night, with the door closed so that there is no risk with my cat either.

These co-sleepers have great reviews by customers on several websites, but my mother-in-law told me she read an article and that they weren’t safe. I did a search online and cannot find anything bad about them.

Let me know your comments. Thanks a lot.

It is highly unlikely that any product currently sold for infants to sleep in is unsafe -as long as it is used in according to the directions. IE if you put a baby that can pull themselves up in a co-sleeper with low sides they could tumble out, but it would clearly be stated in the instructions what age/ability the co-sleeper is rated for.

However I have no clue what you mean by a co-sleeper that sits on the floor. Most sit on the bed or attach to the side of the bed and have legs, at least that I have seen.
